Indiana Wesleyan University began 2015, just as it ended 2014, with applause for the University’s adult education programs.

Affordable Colleges Online has ranked IWU No. 3 on its list of the Best Online Colleges for 2015. And the same website, focusing on specific academic programs, ranked IWU No. 5 on a list of the nation’s Best Online Accounting Degrees for 2015.

In November, another website, Best Values Schools, ranked IWU No. 2 on its list of the 30 Best Online Colleges for 2014.

Affordable Colleges Online and Best Values Schools are considered to be leading resources for online learning and college affordability information. Both websites base their rankings on data that is drawn from several of the most respected sources for higher education.

IWU offers associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. A bachelor’ s degree in accounting online requires 124 credit hours, and transfer students must have completed at least 60 transferable credit hours. There is no application fee, and the online program starts January 15.

IWU Online also offers a degree completion program for students who already have 36-59 credit hours of previous college work.

IWU began offering online classes in 1996, eleven years after becoming one of the first universities in the nation to offer non-traditional adult education programs.  Today, IWU has about 8,000 online students, who represent two-thirds of the total enrollment of adult education programs.
